Night Sky at LSPU Sta. Cruz Laguna, Philippines

Night Sky at LSPU (February 13-14 2013)

Astronomy Photography at PAGASA Observatory

Astrophotography (December 11-12 2012)

Maganda talaga magastrophotography sa isang lugar na mataas ang place, at malayo sa mga buildings at light pollution ng Makati! nagastrophotography ako sa PAGASA Observatory during our Geminid Meteor Shower observation.

Geminid Meteor Shower

Geminids

Different destination kaming mga second year BS Astro students, yung isang group nasa Caliraya Laguna, yung isa pang group ay nasa Taytay Rizal, yung isa kong classmate ay nasa Antipolo City, tapos yung isa ko pang classmate ay nasa Pateros and yung ibang second year nasa PAGASA Observatory. all set up kami para sa data at manuod ng Geminids, dati kasi nung 1st year kami pinagobserve kami ng professor namin at magtally ng meteor para sa data assignment lang yun hindi pa exam hehehe, so ayun sa Montalban Rizal naman kami nagobserve with some 3rd year kasi may assignment din sila... :)

Daming meteors na bumaksak kahit hindi kami sa peak date nagobserve (December 11-12 2012). haayyy kakainggit nga yung mga nasa DARK PLACE (No light pollution) and CLEAR SKIES. naka 15+ meteors ako! hehehehe. lalo na mas maraming bumaksak nung nasa zenith na ang Gemini constellation more on north siya bumaksak.

Space Junk or Satellite?

Unknown?

Most of us don't know kung ano nga ba meron doon sa video na nakuha namin nila Jonah Inguito and Jeroh Hiyastro during our overnight observation noong November 2012. Nung una sabi ko pa kay Jonah na lamok lang yan siguro, pero impossibleng maging lamok ang nasa video, kasi ang scope ay nakafocus lamang sa Moon. Noong makita namin ulit si Sir  Bamm isa sa mga professor namin sa astronomy, pinaka kita namin yung video which is di niya rin malaman kung ano iyong nakunan namin, then Sir bamm called up Ms. Roch para mapakita yung video, then Ms. Roch also called for Sir Custer, this three persons can't event tell to us what it is? So nagoffer ng help is Sir bamm to check kung Satellite or Space junk ang nakunan namin. after 1 day, Sir bamm message me via facebook regarding about the video, he said na ang nasa video ay hindi Satellite, may possibility daw na Space Junk yun, pero sabi niya rin sa akin na almost a month na daw kasi ang video, puwede daw kasing magbago ang data ng mga Satellites. In short until now hindi namin masabi kung ano yung nasa video.

Leonid Meteor Shower

Leonid Meteor Shower

Some Astro students joined us to watch the LEONID METEOR SHOWER, we also do astrophotograhy, sketching, teach some first year to align and focus the scope, hunt some deep sky objects and of course observation of leonids. While laying on the floor in our quadrangle, we saw a faint meteor, while going it became bigger, and change into color white to yellow and boom! it disappear! AWESOME! a long meteor! weii! it breaks the meteor shower that i saw last year during geminid meteor shower. so beautiful! we shout out loud because of the long meteor! :D sooo awesome! \m/ :D for the win! We tally every meteor we saw that night for the data! :)

the Night Sky at RTU :D

Night Sky at RTU

Last November 6 2012 we decided to have an overnight observation at RTU, our main purpose is to took photos of the Moon, but we also try some deep sky objects and Jupiter. Sir Marigza is the hunter of the deep sky objects while us students also try to sketch and took photos of some celestial objects and constellation (night sky). We also enjoyed the taurid meteor shower! hehehe...
