ang Andromeda Mobile Planetarium from Baguio ay isang mobile planetarium kung saan ipropromote ang ASTRONOMY world sa Northern Region ng Pilipinas. merong 6meters (hindi ko na matandaan yung size nung dome) which is 50-80persons ang kasiya sa dome. ang Andromeda Mobile Planetarium was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Macario 

super awesome nga kapag nasa loob ka eh! dahil unang una parang 3D ang mararamdaman mo, aside sa planetarium meron ding mga exhibits ang AMP like Astronomy Images of John  Nassr and Meteorites from Allen Yu.

and ayun sobrang lucky lang na makasama sa first batch to help the AMP go in business! :)

Chris Carabela isa siya sa mga kaibigan ko sa facebook na active sa pagiimage ng Sun na gamit niya is H-alpha and solar filter... nakilala ko kasi siya sa isang european astrophotography group sa facebook din... ayun kinausap ko siya regarding about sa pagiimage ng sun at ano ang mga magagandang devices para sa isang H-alpha telescope... then sabi niya sa akin iaadd niya daw ako sa isang solar group... SOLARACTIVITY and the other is CHARLIE BATES SOLAR ASTRONOMY PROJECT... both groups are very active, and ang nakakatuwa pa sa group na mga yun they promote astronomy sa pagsoSOLAR OBSERVATION and sa pagshare ng mga SOLAR IMAGES... international ang group kaya marami ka ring makikilalang different na tao sa iba't ibang lugar...

yung CHARLIE BATES SOLAR ASTRONOMY PROJECT nagpropromote ito ng FREE solar observation in different parts of the US and dahil nga international siya pati sa iba't ibang lugar ng mundo nagpapasolar observation to promote astronomy and solar awareness... isa na nga rito ang RTU-AstroSoc. sinali ko yung astronomy organization namin kasi nga ang mga students din mahilig sa pagobserve and lagi naman kaming open sa public para ipromote ang astronomy! nagbibigay rin pala ng daily topic ang group about solar kaya napaka interesting talaga ng CBSAP na group!

then yung SolarActivity ay isang group na puwedeng magshare ng mga daily solar images niyo! then puwede pa kayo magtanong tanong sa mga tao doon about sa mga solar activities and solar imaging techniques.

The LX850 Telescope

New Scope

May 8 2013, dumating na daw ang bagong scope ng RTU kaya ayun! agad naman akong pumunta ng school nung umagang yun. napaWOW din ako kasi nga malaki yung scope! puwede ng magkaroon ng observatory ang RTU kaya nakakatuwang balita yun sa amin mga astronomy students... :)

Focal Length: 2845mm

nang mabasa ko yung mga uses niya, ayun nakakatuwa kasi nga good for astro imaging yung scope, may possibility na puwede na rin kami magkaroon ng live stream public viewing, at magkaroon ng mga astro images na mga students and faculty ng RTU ang kumuha! :) nakakaexcite talaga gamitin ang scope na bago... hindi na nga kami makapaghintay para itry ang bagong scope! :)

ang sarap sa feeling nang grumaduate ka! syempre ilang taon ka rin nagpursige, na challenge sa mga problema, at nagaral ng mabuti in short binigay mo na lahat! :) pero mas masarap sa feeling na ito na ang AWARD mo sa mga MAGULANG mo naghirap para mataguyod at mapagaral ka. wala na yatang sasarap sa pakiramdam na yun kundi ang maiuwi mo ang diploma mo sa mga magulang mo ito na ang simbolo ng pasasalamat sa lahat ng paghihirap na nagawa nila...

well ito na nga nakagraduate na nga ang tatlo higher batch! si Ate Pau, si Kuya Migz at si Ate Ghela Ganda... kitang kita sa mga mukha nila nung grumaduate sila ang kasiyahan kaya dama din namin yun! hehehe ayun! magiging prof na sila sa RTU kaya makikita at makikita pa rin namin sila! :D

Astronomy Photography Contest

Astrophotography (January 19-20 2013)

Second time ko ng sumali ng Astrophotography contest, First ko is yung sa Online which is hindi ako pinalad hehehe and Second time ko tong inorganize mismo ng org namin... a fun night with my astro friends! sympere di naman mawawala ang serious mode namin lalo na nung nagstart ang contest ng around 9:15pm...

dami ring binaba na scope almost lahat yata! :) hehehe for that night ang ginamit ko is yung Skywatcher Refractor and my camera (Canon EOS 550D).

10 kaming contestants Me, Kuya Migz, Kuya Frank, Jeroh, Fey, Con, Bon, VG, Jason, and Julie... seryoso mode kaming lahat pero nung nagcloud out! ayun nagayos na kami ng gamit baka kasi umulan...

Nagobserve pa kami nila Jeroh and Fey para makita si Saturn at makunan... kaso kulang ang 2x barlow para lang kunan siya kaya nagafocal photography ako! :( medyo blurred kaya di ko na rin pinasa.. ang mga napasa ko lang is Moon, Landscape and Constellation... so bad... pero nagenjoy ako... :)

Doomsday and Philippine Space Agency

Philippine Space Agency and Debunking the Mayan Doomsday 

A press conference was held in Anabel's restaurant Tomas Morato Quezon City Philippines (December 14 2012). Merong apat na guest speaker, Dr. Jesus Rodrigo Torres (President of RTU), Dr. Merle Tan (UP-NISMED), Dr. Jose Edgardo Aban (University of Brunei Darussalam) and Mr. Frederick "Bamm" Gabriana (RTU).

Isa sa mga pangarap ito ni Dr. Bernardo Soriano ang magkaroon ng Space Agency dito sa Pilipinas, at dahil nga kapos sa pondo ang Pilipinas, hindi agad agad na gawa ang Space Agency na pinangarap ni Dr. Soriano. So now its our goal to build this PHILIPPINE SPACE AGENCY, with the help of Dr. Custer Deocaris, which is siya ang nagsulat ng bill for building Philippine Space Agency (Facebook: Philippine Space Agency).

Habang nagsesearch ako tungkol sa mga active space agencies dito sa asia, nakita ko na ang Philippines lang ang wala pang Space Agency samantala ang mga nakapaligid na bansa sa amin ay meron nang Space Agency. 

This be will the start of a long journey for us Astronomy students to support this bill, magagamit namin to in the future.

Debunking Mayan Doomsday

Mayan Calendar? pinaka sikat na calendaryo ng taon itong Mayan calendar, actually tapos na siya. Matagal ng issue ang Mayan Calendar porket mageend na ito mageend of the world na rin ba? yan ang tanong ng mga tao noon pero ngayon ay DECEMBER 21 2012 na? and umaga na wala pa ring nanyayari. napaka HOT ISSUE nito at laging na feafeatured sa News TV ang tungkol sa Doomsday.

Mr. Frederick Gabriana one of the speaker during the press conference, said na wala namang manyayari if nagkaroon ng planetary alignment (YES! that is true! when sir bamm teach the 3rd year students to compute the tidal force or something, ang liit lang ng chances niya). "Astronomy study also of celestial bodies..." - Sir bamm.

After Overnight at RTU, some students of BS Astronomy Technology goes to DOST Bicutan to participate and listen to the exit report of a Balik Scientist program of DOST. Dr. Josefino C. Comiso, works at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The main topic of his exit report, is Satellite Remote Sensing of the Environment and Climate. The report focus on how remote sensing work on environment and climate analysis to help people understand and gather data.
